About the Opportunity:
The SOFTWARE / DATA ENGINEER is responsible for developing and maintaining software and data pipelines that enable effective data management and analysis to support the organization's mission. This role is vital for ensuring data accuracy and accessibility, which underpin the program's efforts in preventing sexual assault and aiding survivors. It contributes by designing, enhancing, and optimizing data extraction, transformation, and automation workflows.
Responsibilities:
Research, design, and develop computer and network software or utility programs
Analyze user needs to develop appropriate software solutions
Update and enhance software capabilities to meet changing requirements
Develop and implement data pipelines using ETL tools such as Databricks, Python, and R
Perform data manipulation, extraction, and transformation using R and/or SQL
Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and automation processes
Support specification and performance requirement development with technical teams
Manage databases independently or within a team context
Collaborate across teams and communicate technical information to diverse audiences
Requirements:
Three to ten years of directly related experience
At least three years as a Data Engineer
Proficiency in using R and/or SQL for data manipulation and transformation
Experience developing data pipelines with ETL platforms like Databricks, Python, and/or R
Hands-on experience in maintaining and optimizing data pipelines and automation
Active Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship
B.A./B.S. or M.A./M.S. in a related field
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Salary range: $150,000 - $160,000
