Role Description The Manufacturing & Process Engineer – AFP & Advanced Composite Manufacturing will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and documenting manufacturing processes for advanced CFRP components in an automated fiber placement (AFP) and composite production environment. Day-to-day activities include designing and refining process parameters, coordinating with design and mechanical engineering teams, conducting trials, analyzing production data, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and consistency. The role will involve hands-on work on the shop floor, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, supporting new product introduction, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and R&D.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturing Engineering, particularly in composites, AFP, and related production technologies.
Candidates should possess solid Process Engineering skills, including process design, optimization, documentation, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Candidates should possess a foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and material properties.
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to evaluate process data, identify root causes of issues, and propose actionable solutions.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience in composite manufacturing, AFP/ATL processes, or aerospace/defense production environments is highly beneficial.
Knowledge of quality systems, statistical process control, lean manufacturing, and safety standards in a factory setting.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, communicate technical information clearly, and manage multiple projects on-site in Bengaluru.
