About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Company Description DANTA INNOVATIONS develops advanced carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite solutions for defense and aerospace applications. The organization focuses on lightweight, high-strength structures that improve performance and reliability in demanding environments. Key product areas include UAVs, missile systems, launch canisters, rocket launcher tubes, artillery applications, and other strategic platforms. Team members collaborate on cutting-edge composite engineering, materials science, and structural design to support mission-critical systems for global customers.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Hydrogen COPV / Type III-IV-V Engineer role based in Bengaluru. The engineer will design, develop, and validate composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COPVs) for hydrogen storage, with emphasis on Type III, Type IV, and Type V configurations. Daily responsibilities include performing structural and thermal analyses, selecting materials and layup architectures, preparing detailed design documentation, and coordinating with manufacturing teams on tooling, winding, curing, and quality control. The role involves creating and reviewing test plans, overseeing prototype fabrication and qualification testing, and interpreting test data to refine designs and ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams in design, production, and customer programs to support integration of COPVs into aerospace and defense platforms and to drive continuous improvement in performance, reliability, and cost.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of composite materials and structures, including CFRP behavior, laminate design, and failure modes for high-pressure hydrogen storage applications.
Experience in COPV / pressure vessel engineering, particularly Type III-IV-V design, sizing, and analysis for hydrogen or other gas storage systems.
Proficiency in structural analysis tools (e.g., FEA software), pressure vessel calculations, and standard engineering design methodologies.
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards for hydrogen storage and pressure vessels (e.g., ISO, ASME, aerospace and defense qualifications).
Hands-on exposure to composite manufacturing processes such as filament winding, layup, curing, machining, and non-destructive testing.
Ability to develop and interpret test plans, perform data analysis, and translate test results into design improvements and validation reports.
Strong technical documentation and communication skills, including preparation of drawings, specifications, and technical reports for cross-functional teams.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work on-site in Bengaluru in multidisciplinary teams across design, manufacturing, and quality.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related field.
Prior experience in defense, aerospace, hydrogen storage, or high-pressure composite vessel programs is highly desirable.
