About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HR Support Specialist to join our dynamic team at Equiliem. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support to a large enterprise comprising approximately 6,000 employees. Your primary focus will be to coordinate, research, resolve, and respond to employee inquiries across all facets of human resources operations. This includes managing recruitment processes, employee benefits, onboarding and offboarding procedures, payroll, employee engagement initiatives, performance management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will act as a key point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring a smooth and positive experience throughout their employment lifecycle. Additionally, you will lead ad-hoc projects, participate in large-scale HR initiatives such as system upgrades and enhancements, and continuously seek opportunities to improve HR processes and employee satisfaction.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of three years of professional experience in human resources or a similar environment is required, demonstrating a solid understanding of HR functions and systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word, is essential. Experience with Workday or similar HRIS platforms is a must, along with familiarity with data analytics as a plus. Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, high organizational ability, and meticulous attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple projects independently, maintain confidentiality, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment is critical. Flexibility to work 37.5 hours per week within the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm is expected.
Responsibilities
Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current HR trends, legal requirements, and company policies.
Serve as the initial point of contact for employee HR inquiries, managing high volumes of requests via shared mailbox or CRM systems, and collaborating with other HR teams to resolve issues.
Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including background checks, health screenings, and I-9 verification, to ensure a positive onboarding experience and timely employment start.
Assist employees and managers through system processes, creating resources, providing training, and guiding them through HR systems and procedures.
Manage immigration processes for employees with work authorizations, ensuring compliance and coordinating with external legal counsel as needed.
Handle unemployment claims in accordance with state regulations and manage administrative requests such as employment verification, tuition reimbursement, and document retrieval.
Participate in initiatives like the Joint Commission efforts by retrieving data, analyzing areas for improvement, and implementing process enhancements.
Review and ensure accuracy of HR data within systems, identify opportunities for process improvements, and assist in system testing and upgrades.
Act as a subject matter expert in designated HR areas, train team members, and support HR projects and initiatives as required.
