About The Role
Vantor has an exciting opportunity for a Backend Developer within our Intel sector, advancing the national security mission through cutting-edge technology. This role requires a passionate and innovative individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to impactful projects. The Backend Developer will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated software applications and APIs that support our mission-critical operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong programming skills in Java and Python, along with experience in API development, cloud integration, and database management. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and quality assurance, to deliver robust, scalable, and secure solutions that meet stringent security standards.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree coupled with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph. Proficiency in Java and/or Python programming languages, along with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Flask, or Django, is essential. Familiarity with API architectural styles like REST, GraphQL, or SOAP, and experience with API development tools such as Postman or Swagger UI are required. Candidates should have a strong understanding of both SQL and NoSQL database systems, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL. Experience with version control systems like Git, and knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies, are also necessary. Additionally, familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, will be highly advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to security best practices are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Software Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable applications and APIs using Java and Python. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code to ensure maintainability and performance.
API Design and Integration: Develop and implement RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring secure and efficient communication between systems. Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance functionality.
Database Management: Work with various database systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL, for data storage, retrieval, and management.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and QA teams, to define requirements, develop solutions, and ensure seamless integration and functionality.
Performance Optimization and Security: Optimize code and system performance, troubleshoot issues promptly, and implement security best practices to protect data and ensure API authentication integrity.
Cloud Integration (Optional): Implement and integrate cloud services and APIs from providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP to support cloud-native solutions and deployment strategies.
Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing support, perform maintenance, and implement enhancements for existing applications and APIs to ensure operational stability and security.
