Role Description
The Director of Information Technology (Contractor) will lead and oversee the company’s overall IT environment in a remote capacity, ensuring that systems, applications, and infrastructure effectively support business operations and growth. This contract role includes developing and maintaining IT strategy aligned with organizational goals, managing IT operations, and recommending technology solutions that enhance security, scalability, and efficiency. The director will design and implement policies for data protection, network security, and access management, while overseeing vendor relationships and cloud-based tools. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring system performance, coordinating technology upgrades, resolving complex technical issues, and advising leadership on IT risks and opportunities. The role also involves collaborating with business stakeholders to support digital initiatives, maintain compliance with relevant standards, and document IT processes and best practices.
Qualifications
Strong IT leadership experience with skills in IT Management and IT Operations.
Broad technical knowledge in Information Technology, including systems, applications, and cloud-based tools.
Expertise in Network Security, including data protection, access controls, and security best practices.
Ability to develop and execute IT Strategy aligned with organizational and business objectives.
Experience working in a remote, contractor capacity and managing technology for small or growing organizations.
Proficiency in vendor management, budgeting for IT resources, and evaluating technology solutions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL) are a plus.
Experience with cloud platforms, collaboration tools, and cybersecurity frameworks is highly beneficial.
