Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Artist role based in Jaipur. The Artist will work on designing and creating koftgiri and related metal craft pieces, including sketching concepts, preparing materials, and executing detailed metalwork by hand. Daily tasks include engraving, inlay work, polishing, finishing, and ensuring each piece meets quality standards and design specifications. The Artist will collaborate with other craft professionals, provide input on new product ideas, and maintain tools and workspace in safe, organized condition. The role may also involve preparing samples, supporting custom orders, and occasionally interacting with clients or visitors to explain techniques and designs.
Qualifications
Strong artistic ability with experience in metal craft, engraving, or related traditional art forms.
Proficiency in sketching, design development, and translating concepts into finished physical pieces.
Excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to fine detail, and patience for precision work.
Knowledge of tools, materials, and safety practices used in metalworking or craft workshops.
Ability to work full-time on-site in Jaipur and collaborate effectively with a small, craft-focused team.
Prior experience in heritage crafts, jewelry making, or decorative arts is an advantage.
Basic communication skills to discuss designs, requirements, and timelines with colleagues and clients.
Formal training in fine arts, craft, or design is beneficial but not strictly required if skills are demonstrated.
