Role Description The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune Division. This role is responsible for managing general ledger accounting, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring accurate month-end and year-end closings. Daily activities include overseeing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and balance sheet accounts, and monitoring cash flow. The Senior Accountant will support budgeting and forecasting, assist with audits, maintain compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and provide financial insights to leadership. The role also involves improving accounting processes, implementing best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support overall business performance.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in core accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management to support strategic decision-making.
Knowledge of relevant accounting standards (such as GAAP or Ind AS), tax regulations, and audit processes, with the ability to ensure compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, along with strong Excel skills for financial modeling and reporting.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate financial information clearly.
Strong organizational and time-management capabilities, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Relevant academic background in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (such as CA, CPA, CMA) are an advantage.
Prior experience in a senior or lead accounting role, preferably in a consulting, professional services, or growth-focused business environment.
