About the Role
This is not a classical support role.
We are looking for a Java engineer who owns production code — not a ticket router.
Location: EST/CST only (USA, Canada, or Mexico). This is a hard requirement — we cannot cover the Americas shift from other time zones.
Core stack: Java + Kubernetes + AWS.
You will read and debug Java services daily, operate K8s workloads, work with AWS, ship fixes through CI/CD, and handle P1–P4 incidents during the Americas shift.
If your background is “ticket routing and escalation” — this role is not for you.
If your background is “Java developer or SRE who owns production code, works with K8s and AWS, and lives in EST/CST” — this role is for you.
What you'll do:
→ Own P1–P4 incidents during the Americas shift
→ Investigate defects via Datadog, SQL, and Java code
→ Make small Java fixes and ship through CI/CD
→ Operate Kubernetes workloads
→ Use AI agents (and verify their output!)
→ Write RCAs and client-facing updates
What we're looking for:
✅ 4+ years in Support Engineering with Java developer or SRE background
✅ Hands-on Java — read, debug, fix (not just “Java in skills”)
✅ Kubernetes + SQL + CI/CD
✅ Incident handling mindset
✅ English — Advanced/Native
✅ Works critically with AI agents
✅ Located in EST/CST (USA, Canada, or Mexico)
Nice to have: AWS, Datadog, PagerDuty, Terraform, hospitality/payments domain.
Shift: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Central Time (CDT/CST) + 1 h handover.
Weekend on-call: ~1 in 4, by pager.
Duration: Long-term, 160 h/month.
