About the Opportunity:
The ESTIMATOR role is designed for an experienced professional who will contribute to the organization's success by delivering accurate project estimates, supporting business development, and fostering strong industry relationships. This position is critical for identifying profitable projects and managing risk, enabling the organization to secure and execute grading and excavation work effectively.
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed estimates for grading, excavation, and site development projects
Analyze civil plans and specifications to assess project requirements
Collaborate with general contractors, developers, engineers, and clients to build and maintain relationships
Support operations by coordinating with project managers, superintendents, and field crews
Identify and evaluate profitable opportunities while understanding associated risks
Utilize strong sales and business development skills to grow the business
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in grading, excavation, site development, or heavy civil construction
Proficient in estimating and takeoff processes
Knowledge of earthwork, site grading, land clearing, trenching, wet soil mixing, utilities, and soil stabilization
Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications
Understanding of equipment production rates, labor, materials, trucking, and overall project costs
Experience working directly with general contractors, developers, engineers, and owners
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Existing network within the construction industry
Ability to work collaboratively with operations and field teams
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
$110,000 to $130,000+ annually, with a $125,000 target salary, depending on experience and qualifications
