Serving educators across all 50 states, it provides resources primarily through an e-learning platform and educator communications, aiming to build national capacity in news literacy education.
About the Opportunity:
The SENIOR MANAGER OF EDUCATION DESIGN is responsible for overseeing and expanding the organization’s resource library to ensure it meets educator needs and aligns with strategic goals. This role drives innovation and continuous improvement of educational materials, coordinating cross-functional efforts to enhance resource development and impact. It plays a key part in supporting educators and influencing the broader field of news literacy.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a multiyear resource development roadmap based on educator feedback
Monitor and update resource inventory to ensure relevance and accuracy
Lead development of new educational resources including lessons, videos, and interactive content
Collaborate with educator support staff to align development priorities
Coordinate cross-team projects relating to resources, marketing, and technology
Ensure resources align with educational standards
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degrees in education, journalism, or communications preferred
At least 6 years of K-12 education experience, elementary level a plus
Background in journalism, news literacy, or related fields
Substantial instructional design experience creating engaging learning materials
Project management experience
Experience working with marketing, technology, or other cross-functional teams
Familiarity with e-learning tools, accessibility standards, basic graphic design, and video editing
Proficiency in Notion, Slack, Canva, and Microsoft Office including SharePoint
Strong understanding of journalism practices and educational standards
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
Comfortable working virtually and adapting to shifting priorities
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The starting salary for this position is $77,500 to $82,500, negotiable based on qualifications and experience
