Position Overview
Abramson Labor Group is seeking a detail-oriented attorney to join our Associate Review Team. In this role, you will review and edit Compromise and Release (C&R) agreements before they are filed with the WCAB, so that every settlement we submit is accurate, complete, and positioned for approval. This is a high-volume, deadline-driven position suited to someone who works efficiently, stays organized under pressure, and takes pride in getting the details right the first time.
Key Responsibilities
Review and edit C&R agreements and related addendums prepared by the settlement team, confirming accuracy and completeness before filing.
Verify settlement terms against the case file, including ADJ numbers, dates of injury, body parts, settlement amounts, attorney fees, permanent disability advances, liens, and future medical provisions.
Review addendums and attachments, such as Employment Separation Agreements, Medicare-related language, and other supplemental terms, for consistency with the C&R and compliance with WCAB requirements.
Identify and correct errors, omissions, and problematic language that could result in an Order Suspending Action (OSA) or delay approval.
Communicate clearly with Settlement Admins and other internal teams about required corrections so documents move through the pipeline without unnecessary back-and-forth.
Manage a steady daily caseload, prioritize files by urgency and deadline, and keep reviews moving so settlements are filed on time.
Maintain accurate status updates and notes in the firm's case management system.
What This Role Requires
High-volume capacity. You will review a large number of settlement documents on a daily and weekly basis and must maintain quality at that pace.
Deadline management. Hearing dates, filing deadlines, and client expectations drive the work. You must meet turnaround times consistently.
Strong organization. You will juggle multiple files at different stages at once, so you need a reliable system for tracking what's pending, what's corrected, and what's ready.
Time management and prioritization. You must decide quickly what needs attention first and adjust as priorities shift throughout the day.
Exceptional attention to detail. A single wrong date, amount, or missing term can delay a client's settlement, and precision is essential.
Clear, efficient communication. You will give concise, actionable feedback to the team and escalate issues when needed.
Independence with accountability. You will work through your queue with minimal supervision while knowing when to raise a concern.
Comfortable with fast-paced work environments
