Senior AWS Cloud Transformation Architect

Position Overview
We are looking for a seasoned AWS Cloud Architect to lead enterprise-wide cloud transformation initiatives and accelerate the modernization of business-critical applications. This role is focused on reimagining legacy platforms and delivering modern, cloud-native solutions that improve scalability, operational efficiency, and application performance.
As a key technical leader, you will define cloud architecture standards, establish automation-first practices, and guide the evolution of traditional applications into highly resilient microservices-based ecosystems. You will work closely with engineering teams, stakeholders, and implementation partners to ensure successful execution of modernization programs on AWS.
What You'll Be Doing
Cloud Transformation & Solution Design
Develop future-state cloud architectures for applications currently running in traditional on-premise environments.
Lead large-scale modernization efforts utilizing AWS best practices and modernization frameworks.
Design migration strategies that move organizations beyond basic infrastructure migration toward fully optimized cloud-native solutions.
Evaluate existing application landscapes and create transformation roadmaps that improve agility, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Facilitate architecture reviews, modernization assessments, and technical discovery workshops.
Infrastructure Engineering & Automation
Establish Infrastructure as Code standards across the organization using AWS CDK and TypeScript.
Create reusable deployment frameworks and architecture patterns that promote consistency, security, and operational excellence.
Build automated delivery pipelines that support continuous integration, testing, compliance validation, and deployment.
Eliminate manual provisioning processes through scalable automation and governance controls.
Platform & Application Modernization
Drive modernization initiatives involving:
Amazon ECS with Fargate
AWS Lambda
Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL
Amazon S3
Support migration efforts from legacy application stacks and traditional database platforms to modern AWS-native services.
Promote containerization, microservices adoption, and serverless computing where appropriate.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary cloud architecture advisor for modernization programs.
Provide technical oversight for third-party implementation teams and consulting partners.
Guide engineering teams on cloud-native design principles, architectural best practices, and DevOps methodologies.
Partner with business and technology leaders to align cloud initiatives with organizational goals.
Required Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud architecture, or enterprise technology environments.
At least 4 years of hands-on experience leading AWS migration and modernization engagements.
Demonstrated success designing enterprise-scale AWS solutions and transformation strategies.
Strong background in application modernization, cloud adoption, and platform engineering.
Technical Skills
Must-Have
Advanced expertise with AWS CDK (TypeScript).
Deep knowledge of AWS architecture, automation, and cloud governance.
Experience designing solutions using:
Amazon ECS/Fargate
AWS Lambda
Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL
Amazon S3
Strong understanding of CI/CD implementation and DevOps practices.
Experience working with AWS modernization methodologies and transformation programs.
Certifications
Required:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
