About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Architect to join Qualcomm’s innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing and optimizing high-performance, energy-efficient software solutions that drive next-generation hardware capabilities. Your expertise will contribute to the design, implementation, and validation of software stacks, including Linux internals, device drivers, and CPU architecture optimizations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including CPU, compiler, kernel, and open-source communities, to ensure our products meet stringent performance and power efficiency goals. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 4 years of relevant software engineering experience. Advanced degrees such as a master’s or PhD are highly desirable, with corresponding years of experience. Candidates should have extensive programming proficiency in languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java, and a deep understanding of CPU architecture, Linux internals, and device driver development. Proven experience in performance benchmarking, silicon verification, and workload optimization is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to think strategically, and a collaborative mindset are key attributes for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize software components that enhance CPU performance, energy efficiency, and scalability across various product segments.
Leverage knowledge of CPU architecture and software stacks to identify optimization opportunities and implement solutions that meet performance and power consumption targets.
Run benchmarks and conduct pre- and post-silicon verification to validate software performance against specifications.
Create new benchmarks and workloads to evaluate upcoming hardware and software innovations, ensuring readiness for future product launches.
Collaborate closely with internal teams—including CPU, compiler, kernel developers—and external partners such as benchmark vendors and open-source communities to implement cutting-edge solutions.
Analyze complex software workloads at various levels, including libraries, compilers, assembly, runtime environments, and algorithms, to identify and address performance bottlenecks.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve software development processes and product capabilities.
