Position Summary:
This internship offers hands-on experience as an avionics engineer intern.
Qualifications:
Obtaining BS or MS degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, manufacturing engineering, computer science, or related field.
Electronics design and/or PCBA design
Electrical harness design and routing
Mechanical design experience with CAD modeling software
Bring-up and integration of the electrical system of large-scale systems
Development of electrical and mechanical test fixtures and tools
Design for manufacturing, manufacturing process development, manufacturing execution systems
The company believes varied perspectives & backgrounds strengthen the company's team. Prior experience in aerospace is not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience building electrical and mechanical systems.
Familiarity with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, digital multimeters, power supplies, soldering irons, and hand tools.
Collegiate engineering competition experience (Rocketry, Formula SAE, SAE Baja Racing RoboCup, NASA Rover, etc.).
Prior internship or co-op experience.
Position Highlights:
The Avionics team is responsible for the full lifecycle of electronics, harnessing, enclosures and secondary structure, instrumentation, and GSE hardware central to operating the company’s rockets.
The team designs, builds, tests, integrates, and operates the hardware which controls the rocket in flight, downlinks critical telemetry, keeps the public safe, and deploys the company's customers' payloads to orbit!
The company's hardware enables the company’s to reliably control the company's rockets while maintaining the flexibility to rapidly iterate the company's designs. As a member of this team, you will design innovative hardware solutions capable of surviving harsh launch and space environments.
Your designs will support multiple vehicle systems such as sensors, propulsion, computing, actuation, energy management, and communications.

The compensation for this role is $34–42 per hour.
