You will define technical direction and build scalable distributed systems that power discoverability, personalization, experimentation, and core user journeys. The role combines hands-on backend engineering with architecture, reliability, mentorship, and cross-functional leadership. You will partner with Product, Design, Analytics, Web, Mobile, and ML teams to translate user needs and ambiguous product ideas into robust technical solutions. A key focus will be strengthening platform health, modernizing legacy systems, reducing technical debt, and improving observability and scalability. You will have broad influence over engineering standards while helping teams move faster without compromising quality or reliability.
