Turner & Townsend’s Digital Advisory business is growing and building capability to meet our 2030 Strategy. We are seeking an experienced Digital Advisory Consultant to support the delivery and growth of our digital, business and technology advisory and transformation services. Candidates should have a track record of working within asset-intensive industries, the built environment, energy and natural resources, infrastructure, transport, defence or government. Knowledge of business transformation, operating model design, organisational change, technology strategy, business architecture or related disciplines is desirable.
Service delivery excellence: Delivering digital strategy, business transformation and technology advisory engagements.
Business Generation capability: Contributing to bid writing, proposal development, client presentations and lead generation activities.
People & Operations: Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues and supporting a positive and inclusive team culture.
Service development: Contributing to the development of digital, business and technology advisory propositions, playbooks, methodologies, insights and benchmarking resources.
The team offers a wide range of commissions covering the UK. Candidates would be expected to travel up to 2-3 days per week supporting the delivery of the commissions. As a global business we deliver projects anywhere in the world for our global client base so future flexibility would be advantageous.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate will provide digital, business and technology strategy expertise. Additionally, they will support the development of our Digital Strategy, Advisory and Transformation service offering, sharing best-practice knowledge with colleagues and supporting the identification and development of new commercial opportunities.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with an ability to adapt to and embed into different client environments. This includes identifying and engaging key stakeholders and liaising across business departments and groups.
Candidates will be expected to engage with clients and be comfortable leading workshops, assessing opportunities for process improvement, including through process modelling, and applying their understanding of the requirements management lifecycle to support the successful delivery of technical solutions.
Experience of working on Digital Strategy and Transformation projects delivered through Agile and/or Waterfall approaches is required.
Experience of digital, business, technology or data-enabled transformation is required, including the ability to gather, review and analyse business and industry insights, such as KPIs, financial reports and operational metrics, to identify insights and inform strategic recommendations.
Experience contributing to strategic deliverables such as operating models, transformation roadmaps, business cases, capability assessments, technology strategies or business transformation plans is desirable.
Knowledge of PMO and project controls environments is desirable, including an understanding of cost, schedule, risk, change and performance reporting. Familiarity with project and programme management information systems would be advantageous.
An understanding of digital, business and technology capabilities is desirable. Candidates should be comfortable working alongside technical specialists, eliciting business needs from non-technical stakeholders and translating them into clear requirements, recommendations and transformation priorities.
Experience or knowledge of business architecture, enterprise architecture, service design, organisational design or related disciplines is desirable.
SCOPE
Consultants will work within our Digital Consulting team. They may also operate within wider Turner & Townsend project teams from other business units. In addition, they will interact with clients and other project stakeholders. They will support a wide range of projects of varying sizes and complexity. From time to time, this may include working with consultants from other organisations.
The successful candidate will:
Support the delivery of digital, business and technology transformation programmes across strategic sectors, such as Energy and Natural Resources, Defence, Infrastructure and Government.
Support clients in defining digital strategy, business transformation, technology adoption, operating model improvement and related priorities.
Assess current organisational, operational and technology environments and contribute to the development of future-state strategies and roadmaps.
Contribute to business growth through lead generation, bid writing and proposal development.
Share knowledge and provide support to colleagues, contributing to a culture of excellence and innovation.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of Turner & Townsend’s digital, business and technology advisory service offerings through proposition development and knowledge management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Service Delivery
Deliver digital, business and technology transformation and advisory engagements, working collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Assess business, operational, process and technology environments to identify opportunities for improvement and transformation.
Contribute to the development of capability assessments, transformation roadmaps, strategic recommendations and operating model improvements aligned with client objectives.
Support and facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews and discovery activities to understand client priorities and requirements.
Produce high-quality deliverables, support effective client relationships and contribute to measurable engagement outcomes.
Business Generation
Support lead generation and help identify new opportunities within target sectors.
Contribute to bid writing, proposal development and client presentations in line with Turner & Townsend best practice.
Build positive client relationships that support repeat business and long-term partnerships.
People & Operations
Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the Digital Advisory practice and wider business, sharing knowledge and supporting others where appropriate.
Promote a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
Support the development of colleagues through mentoring, coaching and knowledge-sharing activities.
Service Development
Contribute to the development of digital, business and technology advisory propositions, playbooks, methodologies, insights and benchmarking resources.
Maintain and enhance insights, benchmarks and knowledge repositories to support client engagements.
Research emerging business, technology and transformation trends, helping to refine service offerings in response to evolving client needs.
This role requires good analytical skills and strong numerical capability, with the ability to understand, analyse and present data in different formats. A good level of Microsoft Office capability, or a willingness to develop this capability, is also required.
A degree in an analytical, business, technology or engineering-related subject is advantageous but not required.
Qualifications in Business Analysis, Project Management, Change Management, Service Design, Enterprise Architecture or related disciplines are desirable. Relevant practical experience will also be considered.
