Opportunity Overview
Havora is building an intentional relationship platform that helps people find compatible partners and create lasting connections, starting with Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
We are currently developing our MVP and are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to help turn our vision into a thoughtful, useful digital product.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic product judgment with practical execution and can move work forward independently.
Role Details
* Duration: Six months, with the option to extend by mutual agreement
* Time commitment: At least 15 hours per week
* Compensation: Unpaid; no salary or stipend is currently available
* Experience: Minimum of six years in product management
* Work environment: Early-stage, collaborative, and mission-driven
What You’ll Own
Product Discovery
* Understand user needs, behaviours, and challenges.
* Conduct research and test key assumptions.
* Identify the problems most worth solving.
* Distinguish genuine user needs from feature requests.
Product Strategy and Prioritisation
* Translate Havora’s vision into a practical product roadmap.
* Balance user needs, business goals, technical feasibility, and available resources.
* Make clear decisions about what to build, simplify, or defer.
* Keep the team focused on delivering a valuable MVP.
Product Requirements and Delivery
* Create product requirements, user stories, user flows, and acceptance criteria.
* Provide designers and engineers with clear direction.
* Collaborate with product, design, and technical teams from discovery through release.
* Resolve ambiguity and communicate trade-offs.
* Maintain alignment between requirements and implementation.
Measurement and Improvement
* Define product success metrics.
* Gather and interpret user feedback.
* Use evidence to improve activation, engagement, retention, and overall user experience.
* Identify opportunities for continuous product improvement.
Trust, Safety, and User Experience
* Consider authenticity, compatibility, privacy, and safety in product decisions.
* Help create an experience that reflects the personal nature of relationships.
* Advocate for user trust throughout the product development process.
Ownership and Communication
* Keep priorities, decisions, dependencies, and progress visible.
* Raise risks and blockers early.
* Follow through on agreed commitments.
* Move work forward without waiting for detailed instructions or repeated reminders.
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience and Skills
* At least six years of product management experience.
* Demonstrated ownership of digital products.
* Experience taking a product from discovery through development and launch.
* Clear examples of your contributions and measurable outcomes.
* Strong product judgment and decision-making skills.
* Experience with user research, prioritisation, analysis, and problem-solving.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, practical requirements.
* Strong collaboration skills across product, design, and engineering.
* Openness to feedback and constructive disagreement.
* Comfort working in an early-stage environment with changing priorities and limited resources.
* Availability to contribute at least 15 hours per week throughout the engagement.

Technical Understanding
A technical background or strong technical understanding is an advantage.

* Engineering handoffs
Coding ability is not required.
Commitment and Future Opportunities
This is a six-month volunteer opportunity, with the possibility of extension by mutual agreement.
There is currently no salary or stipend.
As Havora gains traction and begins generating revenue, volunteers who make a significant, demonstrable impact may be prioritised for consideration for:
