Role Description The Public Speaking Mentor is a remote, contract role responsible for guiding learners in developing confident, effective communication skills. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering interactive online sessions, coaching learners on speech structure, vocal delivery, body language, and stage presence, and providing individualized feedback on presentations and practice speeches. The mentor will design activities, exercises, and assignments to help learners overcome speaking anxiety, improve articulation, and adapt messaging to different audiences and contexts. The role also involves collaborating with the education team to refine curriculum materials and tracking learner progress to ensure continuous improvement in public speaking capabilities.
Qualifications
Strong public speaking, presentation, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to model clear, engaging delivery.
Experience in coaching, mentoring, or teaching learners in communication, debating, or performance-based activities.
Ability to design structured learning activities, create lesson plans, and adapt content for diverse age groups and skill levels.
Comfort with online teaching tools, video-conferencing platforms, and digital collaboration resources in a remote setting.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and the ability to motivate and build confidence in learners.
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, Performing Arts, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Prior experience as a trainer, speech coach, educator, or facilitator is highly beneficial.
Strong organizational skills, reliability in managing contract schedules, and a commitment to learner-centered teaching.
