Your future duties and responsibilities
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to join our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining scalable enterprise-grade backend systems. The ideal candidate brings extensive expertise in Java technologies, microservices architectures, and event-driven frameworks.
You will work closely with system architects, front-end developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to design and deploy secure, robust APIs and process orchestrations that drive our clients' digital transformations.
Responsibilities:
Architecture & Design: Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable, resilient, and performant backend services and microservices architectures.
API Management: Design and implement secure, high-quality RESTful APIs; manage the full API lifecycle from conception through deprecation.
Workflow Automation & Messaging: Build and integrate workflow automation systems using Camunda and design robust real-time communication channels leveraging Kafka and event-driven principles.
Security Integration: Ensure the application security model adheres to industry standards, actively configuring and managing API security using OAuth2 and JWT.
Database Management: Design, optimize, and maintain complex relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL stores.
Code Quality & Mentorship: Conduct rigorous code reviews, establish best practices, and mentor junior and mid-level developers within the team to foster continuous technical growth.
Collaboration: Participate in agile ceremonies (scrum, sprint planning, retrospectives) and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver incremental value.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
Must-Have Skills:
Core Java Expertise: 7 + years of hands-on software development experience with core Java, with deep proficiency in Java 11+ and Java 17.
Frameworks: Mastery of the Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and ORM tools such as Hibernate or JPA.
Microservices: Proven experience designing, building, deploying, and maintaining microservices architectures.
API & Security: Strong experience in RESTful API design and API security standards, specifically OAuth2 and JSON Web Tokens (JWT).
Event-Driven & Workflow Engines: Solid hands-on experience working with Kafka (or other event-driven streaming platforms) and Camunda BPM (or equivalent workflow engines).
Databases: Strong skills in SQL and database schema design (PostgreSQL/MySQL) along with familiarity with NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Redis).
Tools & Processes: Proficient in version control using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile software development practices.
Good-to-Have Skills:
Cloud Infrastructure: Experience deploying and hosting applications on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Containerization & Orchestration: Practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
DevOps: Experience configuring and working with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
