The Mobile Game UI/Layout Designer is a remote contract role responsible for designing intuitive, visually appealing user interfaces and layouts for mobile game experiences. Day-to-day tasks include creating wireframes and mockups, defining screen flows, and optimizing layout cadence to support clear navigation and engaging gameplay. The designer will collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and developers to refine UI components, ensure visual consistency, and adapt designs for different devices and resolutions. Additional responsibilities include iterating on feedback, preparing assets and layout specifications for implementation, and contributing to the overall UX strategy to keep players immersed and informed.
Qualifications
Strong layout skills, including Layout Design, Page Layout, and visual hierarchy for mobile interfaces.
Experience with IC Layout and related layout practices, with the ability to apply systematic, grid-based thinking to UI design.
Understanding of Analog design principles and Cadence, with an ability to create rhythmic, intuitive screen flows.
Proficiency with modern design tools and asset preparation for mobile game engines .
Demonstrated portfolio of mobile UI or game interface work, showcasing thoughtful layout, accessibility, and player-centric design.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment, manage deadlines, and incorporate feedback from multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with mobile UX best practices, touch interactions, and performance considerations; experience in game development is a plus.
Relevant education or training in interaction design, graphic design, game design, or a related field is beneficial but not strictly required.
