Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Carpenter role based in Chennai. The Carpenter will construct, install, repair, and maintain wooden and other structural elements for residential, commercial, or industrial projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, measuring and cutting materials, assembling frameworks and structures, and performing finish carpentry tasks such as installing doors, windows, cabinets, and trim. The role involves safe operation of hand tools and power tools, accurate framing work, and ensuring all tasks conform to quality, safety, and building standards. The Carpenter will collaborate with supervisors and other tradespeople, maintain a clean and organized work area, and complete assigned projects within agreed timelines.
Qualifications
Strong Carpentry skills, including construction, installation, repair, and finishing work.
Proficiency with Hand Tools such as hammers, saws, chisels, and measuring instruments.
Experience using Power Tools safely and efficiently (e.g., drills, saws, sanders).
Ability to perform accurate Framing work for walls, floors, roofs, and other structures.
Competence in Finish Carpentry, including doors, windows, cabinetry, trim, and other detailed work.
Knowledge of basic building codes, safety regulations, and site safety practices.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
Good physical stamina, manual dexterity, and ability to lift and move materials as required.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Previous experience as a Carpenter or relevant trade certification; vocational training in carpentry is an advantage.
