Position Overview: As a Data Protection Expert, you will play a critical role in delivering secure, reliable, and resilient data protection solutions for our customers. Working as part of our managed services team, you will leverage your expertise in enterprise backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience to protect business-critical data across on-premises, virtual, and cloud environments. This role requires a customer-focused professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about ensuring data is available, recoverable, and protected against evolving business and security risks. Your contributions will help customers maintain operational continuity, meet compliance requirements, and build confidence in their ability to recover from unexpected events.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, configure, and support backup and data protection solutions across enterprise environments.
Monitor backup jobs, storage utilization, performance, and overall system health
Troubleshoot and resolve backup, restore, and replication issues
Perform regular restore testing to validate data integrity and recovery readiness
Design, implement, and maintain backup policies aligned with RPO/RTO requirements.
Support backup/data protection operations across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms
Collaborate with infrastructure, database, application, and security teams to ensure comprehensive data protection coverage.
Maintain documentation for backup architecture, procedures, and recovery processes.
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
Support compliance, audit, and governance requirements related to data protection
Participate in on-call or after-hours support rotations as required
Support backup infrastructure upgrades, maintenance releases, hotfixes, and security updates.
Manage backup infrastructure capacity, performance, deduplication, storage utilization, and data-aging activities.
Implement and maintain backup security controls, including immutability, Air Gap protection, Compliance Lock, access control, and ransomware-resilience measures.
Develop and maintain backup-related SOPs, technical documentation, operational procedures, and disaster-recovery documentation.
Generate daily, monthly, quarterly, and management backup reports and provide operational status updates.
Participate in change management, CAB reviews, incident management, problem management, and audit activities.
Open and manage vendor support cases and coordinate troubleshooting with vendors.
Ensure backup and recovery processes meet defined RPO, RTO, SLA, compliance, and business-continuity requirements.
Identify opportunities to automate backup monitoring, reporting, health checks, and operational tasks.
Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in enterprise backup, recovery, and data protection
Hands-on experience with Commvault Backup & Recovery, Commvault Metallic/Cloud, Veeam Backup & Replication, and Microsoft Azure Backup.
Commvault certification such as Commvault Certified Professional (CCP) or equivalent certification.
Veeam certification such as Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) or equivalent certification.
Experience with Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, VMware, and Hyper-V
Strong understanding of hybrid cloud and on-premises backup environments
Experience performing restore validation and disaster recovery
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Experience working with enterprise customers, infrastructure teams, and technology vendors.
Experience working in Medium to large scale MSP environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills; Strong stakeholder communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
Experience creating technical documentation, SOPs, operational reports, and audit evidence.
Experience with PowerShell or other scripting/automation technologies.
Experience and familiarity with ITSM tools such as Service Now
Ability to participate in after-hours maintenance, upgrades, and critical recovery activities when required.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability Status or Security Clearance.

Ce rôle requiert un professionnel orienté client qui s’épanouit dans un environnement collaboratif, apprécie la résolution de défis techniques complexes et est passionné par la disponibilité, la récupération et la protection des données face à l’évolution des risques d’affaires et de sécurité.
Grâce à vos contributions, nos clients pourront assurer la continuité de leurs opérations, respecter leurs exigences de conformité et renforcer leur confiance dans leur capacité à se rétablir rapidement après des événements imprévus. Responsabilités clés:
 Administrer, configurer et soutenir les solutions de sauvegarde et de protection des données dans des environnements d’entreprise.
 Surveiller les tâches de sauvegarde, l’utilisation du stockage, les performances et l’état de santé global des systèmes.
 Diagnostiquer et résoudre les problèmes liés aux sauvegardes, aux restaurations et à la réplication.
 Effectuer régulièrement des tests de restauration afin de valider l’intégrité des données et la capacité de récupération.
 Concevoir, mettre en œuvre et maintenir des politiques de sauvegarde alignées sur les exigences de RPO et de RTO.
 Assurer le soutien des opérations de sauvegarde
