About the Opportunity:
The SENIOR SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEER - VOLCANO will lead the reliability efforts for an internal developer platform designed to support engineering teams with on-demand environments and managed services. This role is pivotal in defining and maintaining the platform’s reliability standards, infrastructure, and operational practices, directly influencing the development and success of the next-generation platform.
Responsibilities:
Define and manage service level objectives, error budgets, and incident response for all platform services.
Design and develop multi-region Kubernetes infrastructure, networking, and data planes.
Implement deployment automation and continuous integration pipelines using tools like ArgoCD, Helm, and Terraform/Terragrunt.
Operate and scale managed data services including PostgreSQL, Redis, and object storage with attention to isolation, performance, and disaster recovery.
Establish comprehensive observability through instrumentation, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks before service launch.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate reliability and compliance into platform architecture.
Assess and incorporate emerging technologies relevant to the platform’s development.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Extensive experience at staff or principal level in site reliability engineering or platform engineering.
Proven success in building SRE or platform engineering practices for developer-facing or PaaS/SaaS platforms, especially at early stages.
Expertise in Kubernetes, including multi-tenant cluster design, networking, autoscaling, and security.
