About the Opportunity:
The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER, CLUSTER SCALABILITY role is responsible for developing core infrastructure for a distributed database system. The position focuses on data partitioning and building distributed components that unify query processing and storage into a cohesive system. The role directly impacts the system's scalability, elasticity, and workload execution efficiency, ensuring reliable performance at scale.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement distributed data partitioning and scaling features
Develop data movement and dynamic scaling protocols
Address complex performance and system resiliency challenges
Collaborate on building robust, scalable database infrastructure
Participate in code and design reviews
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience building distributed systems
Proficient in C++ with experience delivering production-quality code
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software architecture
Expertise in system design for large-scale distributed environments
Understanding of modern computer architecture and system internals
Demonstrated success or research in high performance networking, distributed systems, or system observability
