Salary: ₹50,000/month onwards (based on experience)
ABOUT US
Shori Trends is a knitwear and innerwear manufacturer in Tiruppur. We run 15 sewing lines and are part of a vertically integrated group with in-house fabric processing and recycled-polyester manufacturing. We supply export buyers who expect consistent quality and on-time delivery.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Cutting Manager to lead our cutting and preparatory department. You will be responsible for cutting, fusing and the cut parts store, making sure our sewing lines get accurate, complete inputs on time with the lowest possible fabric waste.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cutting
• Plan daily cutting to match the sewing line loading plan and shipment dates
• Prepare and check cut order plans, lay plans and marker efficiency
• Control fabric consumption and wastage, and reconcile fabric issued against cut quantities
• Handle knit fabric properly: relaxation, shrinkage checks, shade segregation and spreading tension
• Ensure accurate cutting, numbering, bundling and ticketing
• Inspect cut panels and fix issues before they reach sewing
Preparatory Operations
• Manage fusing operations: machine settings, temperature, pressure and time, along with bond strength checks and shrinkage control
• Coordinate printing, embroidery and other outside or in-house panel processes, and track their return
• Ensure all components, trims and parts are matched to their bundles before issue
Cut Parts Store and Line Input
• Run the cut parts store with proper bundle tracking, shade matching and stock records
• Issue complete, kit-ready inputs to sewing lines on time, according to the line plan
• Prevent line stoppages by keeping enough cut stock ahead of sewing
• Report shortages, delays and mismatches early to production and merchandising
Team and Reporting
• Lead, train and manage the full team: spreaders, cutters, fusing operators, numberers, bundlers and store staff
• Coordinate with merchandising, CAD, fabric stores, quality and production teams
• Maintain cutting and fusing machines and enforce safety practices
• Keep daily reports on output, consumption, wastage, fusing quality and line input status
REQUIREMENTS
• 7+ years in knitwear cutting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
• Strong knowledge of knit fabrics such as single jersey, rib, interlock and spandex blends
• Hands-on experience in innerwear or export garment production
• Hands-on experience managing fusing and the cut parts store or line feeding
• Good understanding of marker planning and CAD (Gerber, Lectra or similar)
• Familiarity with automatic spreading and cutting machines is a plus
• Strong team leadership and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets for reporting
• Tamil required; English preferred
