Essay & Creative Writing Mentor (Freelance)

Are you passionate about writing, storytelling, and helping young minds express their ideas with clarity and creativity? Neerja Modi School is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Freelance Essay & Creative Writing Mentor to guide students in developing their writing skills, strengthening their voice, and exploring the art of effective storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct engaging, interactive sessions on essay writing, creative writing, and storytelling.
Guide students in developing strong ideas, structuring content, and presenting their thoughts effectively.
Mentor students in writing personal narratives, descriptive pieces, persuasive essays, reflective writing, and other creative formats.
Help students develop compelling introductions, coherent paragraphs, strong arguments, and impactful conclusions.
Introduce students to literary techniques, vocabulary development, tone, style, and the effective use of language.
Encourage originality, imagination, critical thinking, and independent expression through writing activities.
Provide constructive feedback on students' written work and guide them in editing, proofreading, and revision.
Support students in developing personal essays, including college application essays and statements of purpose, wherever required.
Prepare age-appropriate writing prompts, exercises, and learning resources to enhance students' writing abilities.
Mentor students in preparing submissions for writing competitions, publications, literary events, and other school initiatives.
Create a supportive environment that encourages students to experiment with ideas and develop confidence in their writing.
What We're Looking For
A background in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing, Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
Experience in essay writing, creative writing, content development, or literary projects.
Experience in teaching, mentoring, conducting workshops, or working with school students is preferred.
Familiarity with different writing styles, genres, and age-appropriate writing techniques.
The ability to guide students in organising ideas, developing arguments, and expressing themselves with clarity and originality.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students across different age groups.
A creative, student-centred approach that encourages independent thinking and authentic expression.
Must be based in Jaipur and available to conduct in-person sessions at the school.
