Company Description
PortfolioFuture is an independent fund discovery and intelligence company that uses empirical research to evaluate and rank ETFs and mutual funds. The organization focuses on fund substitution, relative performance, and investable return decomposition to help investors and financial advisors understand how different products impact portfolios. For asset managers, PortfolioFuture connects independent fund research with portfolio and ownership intelligence to highlight credible competitive positions and relevant distribution opportunities. Its research is fully independent; commercial relationships do not influence rankings, conclusions, or which funds are surfaced. PortfolioFuture is driven by the belief that better investment products deserve a fair chance to win.
Role Description
As an Agentic Investment Writer intern at PortfolioFuture, you will create clear, data-informed written content explaining fund rankings, portfolio implications, and research insights for investors, financial advisors, and asset managers. You will translate quantitative research into accessible narratives, write short reports and commentary on ETFs and mutual funds, and help build educational materials on topics such as fund substitution and performance attribution. You will collaborate closely with the research team to understand methodology, ask critical questions, and ensure that written outputs accurately communicate independent findings. This is a remote internship role, offering flexible collaboration across locations and the opportunity to work in a highly analytical, research-driven environment.
Qualifications
Strong investment and finance foundation, including familiarity with ETFs, mutual funds, portfolio construction, performance analysis, and risk concepts.
Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret empirical findings, work with datasets or summaries, and derive clear insights from quantitative work.
Advanced written communication skills, including structured report writing, concise explanatory prose, and the ability to adapt tone for professional audiences.
Ability to collaborate with researchers and product experts, ask precise questions, and independently manage drafting and editing workflows in a remote setting.
Comfort working with spreadsheets and basic analytical tools; exposure to programming or statistical tools (e.g., Python, R, or similar) is a plus.
Attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and alignment with independent, evidence-based research principles.
Pursuing or holding a degree in finance, economics, statistics, data science, or a related field; prior experience in investments, research, or writing is beneficial.
