Role Description The Software Test Engineer role is a full-time remote position focused on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software products. In this role, the engineer will design, develop, and execute test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements, and document test results clearly and accurately. Daily responsibilities include performing manual and automated test execution, identifying and reporting defects, collaborating with software development teams to troubleshoot issues, and verifying fixes. The engineer will participate in test planning, contribute to improving testing processes and frameworks, and help maintain test documentation and regression test suites. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication with cross-functional teams, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in software testing practices.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Software Testing and Testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and integration testing.
Ability to design and maintain clear, structured Test Cases and test documentation.
Hands-on experience with Test Execution, including manual and, preferably, automated test execution.
Basic understanding of Software Development principles to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
Familiarity with test management tools and bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, TestRail, or similar).
Knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language for automation (e.g., Python, Java, or JavaScript) is a plus.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
