About this role
The SAP Architect is Refold’s resident SAP expert who owns the architecture for our hardest enterprise SAP problems. You’ve spent years working with SAP ecosystems, understand SAP architecture and enterprise processes inside out, and have a deep, hands-on command of SAP systems, data models, APIs, and how SAP connects with the broader enterprise technology landscape. You set the technical approach where there’s no playbook and serve as the primary technical point of contact for enterprise accounts on SAP architecture and implementations.
Team: Senior technical IC role within the delivery org, owning SAP architecture and enterprise implementations.
Building: Mission-critical agentic AI integrations involving complex SAP environments at enterprise scale — the problems for which no playbook exists yet.
You’ll work with: CTOs, CIOs, VPs of Engineering, SAP leaders, and enterprise architecture teams at Fortune 500 enterprises and $50M+ ARR software companies.
What you'll do:
Own the architecture for the hardest SAP problems. Design complex, mission-critical solutions involving SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BTP, and other enterprise systems, addressing complex business processes, data flows, and cross-system dependencies, especially where no playbook exists yet.
Be the technical POC for enterprise accounts. Serve as the senior SAP technical voice enterprise customers trust and the technical owner of their most important SAP architecture and implementation initiatives.
Make the decisive technical calls. Own the hard decisions on SAP system architecture, data modelling, integration patterns, extensibility, agentic orchestration, authentication, error handling, and performance under real enterprise load.
Speak credibly to enterprise security. Be the trusted technical voice with customers’ security and compliance teams on SAP security models, role-based access controls, SSO, VPC, mTLS, and our SOC 2 Type II / ISO 27001 / ISO 42001 / HIPAA posture.
Shape product direction. Be the most credible field voice in the room. Translate patterns observed across SAP implementations, customer accounts, and deals into identified gaps, reference architectures, and durable product bets, partnering directly with Product and Engineering on the roadmap.
Codify what works. Turn hard-won learnings into SAP reference architectures, implementation patterns, solution blueprints, and runbooks that scale across the delivery team and feed the support knowledge base.
Bring architecture expertise to high-stakes deals. Partner with pre-sales on the prospects where getting the SAP technical approach right is what wins, leading architecture reviews, solution design discussions, and technical deep dives.
What we're looking for:
6–10 years of experience in SAP architecture, SAP technical consulting, or enterprise solutions architecture, with a substantial, demonstrable background in designing and delivering complex SAP solutions.
Mandatory hands-on SAP experience with enterprise SAP environments, including SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP ECC, and a strong understanding of SAP architecture, implementation approaches, and enterprise business processes.
Excellent, deep understanding of SAP integration capabilities and technologies, including SAP BTP Integration Suite, SAP APIs, OData, IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, and relevant integration patterns.
A deep technical problem-solver who designs solutions from first principles for problems that have no established answer.
Deep expertise in SAP solution architecture, SAP data models, enterprise application landscapes, and modern cloud infrastructure.
Strong technical communication; credible as the senior technical voice with CIOs, CTOs, VPs of Engineering, SAP leaders, and enterprise architects.

Nice to have:
Hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic frameworks (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models, agent orchestration).
Prior principal/staff SAP architect, lead SAP technical consultant, enterprise solutions architect, or founding solutions engineer role at a high-growth enterprise startup.
Direct experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, SAP ABAP, and SAP business processes across finance, procurement, supply chain, or other enterprise functions.
Experience with SAP integration and middleware technologies, including SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite, alongside platforms such as Workato, Boomi, or MuleSoft.
Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, and Azure), containerised environments (Docker and Kubernetes), and modern data infrastructure.
