Accounting Manager

About The Role
The role owns the month-end close and general ledger for a fast-scaling technology business, ensuring financials are accurate, timely, and compliant with US GAAP and SOX controls.
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager leads a small team, drives process automation across ERP systems, and partners with FP&A, tax, and external auditors to support SEC reporting readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, delivering accurate financial statements within a five-day close timeline
Oversee complex accounting areas including revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), and accruals
Maintain and strengthen SOX 404 internal controls, documenting control procedures and remediating deficiencies ahead of external audits
Manage and develop a team of 2-4 accountants, reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, and account analyses in NetSuite
Coordinate quarterly and annual audits with external auditors, preparing PBC schedules and resolving technical accounting questions
Support SEC reporting deliverables, including preparation of supporting workpapers for 10-Q and 10-K disclosures
Lead system and process improvement initiatives, including close automation, ERP enhancements, and reconciliation tooling (BlackLine or similar)
What We Are Looking For
5-8 years of combined public accounting and industry experience, ideally including Big 4 audit exposure
Deep knowledge of US GAAP, technical accounting research, and SOX internal control frameworks
Hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle) and proficiency with close management or reconciliation tools
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small accounting team while managing hands-on deliverables
CPA certification (active or in progress)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Bonus: SEC reporting experience, SaaS revenue recognition expertise, or experience scaling close processes at a high-growth company
