Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Software Engineer I at DBByte. In this position, you will design, develop, and maintain back-end services and core platform components that power DBByte’s data infrastructure. You will write clean, efficient, and testable code, perform code reviews, and collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and DevOps professionals to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include improving system performance, troubleshooting production issues, refining architecture for high availability, and contributing to technical documentation and best practices. You will also mentor other engineers, help shape technical direction, and participate in continuous improvement of development workflows and tools.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems concepts.
Experience in Back-End Web Development and Software Development for large-scale, high-availability services.
Proficiency in Programming with at least one modern language (e.g., Go, Java, C++, Rust, or similar).
Solid understanding and practical experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software design principles.
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, storage systems, or content delivery networks is highly beneficial.
Familiarity with APIs, microservices architectures, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team and communicate clearly in written and verbal form.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
