Job Description:
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that support business decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Power BI, DAX, SQL, data modeling, and integrating data from multiple sources to deliver actionable business insights.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
Gather business requirements and translate them into effective reporting and visualization solutions.
Develop complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs to support business reporting needs.
Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Power Query.
Develop and optimize data models, relationships, and data structures for efficient reporting.
Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze data from relational databases.
Integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, Excel files, and cloud-based platforms.
Optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for performance, usability, and scalability.
Implement row-level security (RLS) and other data access controls where required.
Publish, manage, and maintain reports and datasets in Power BI Service.
Configure scheduled data refreshes, gateways, and workspace access as needed.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and cross-functional teams to understand reporting requirements.
Troubleshoot data discrepancies, refresh failures, and report performance issues.
Maintain documentation for data models, reports, and business logic.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
Proficiency in DAX, including measures, calculated columns, and time intelligence functions.
Strong experience with Power Query (M language) for data transformation and cleansing.
Good knowledge of SQL, including joins, subqueries, aggregations, and query optimization.
Experience in data modeling, schema design, relationships, and performance optimization.
Experience developing interactive dashboards, reports, KPIs, and business metrics.
Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data integration.
Experience with report publishing, workspace management, scheduled refreshes, and gateways.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Microsoft Excel, SQL Server, Azure data services, or other enterprise data platforms.
Familiarity with Power BI administration, deployment pipelines, and version control practices.
Knowledge of business intelligence best practices and data governance.
Microsoft Power BI certification is an added advantage.
