Mechanical Design Engineer – MEP

ABOUT THE ROLE
F5 Global Talent is hiring an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer – MEP to design HVAC, plumbing, and fire-protection systems for U.S. residential and commercial projects.
This is an engineering role — not a drafting-only position. You’ll perform load and hydraulic calculations, select and size equipment, develop coordinated system layouts, and produce complete construction documentation in AutoCAD and Revit.
You’ll work directly with U.S.-based architects, structural engineers, clients, and project teams, and you’ll be expected to explain and defend your design decisions clearly.
This is a full-time, remote role for candidates based in India, working U.S. business hours.
IMPORTANT: We need someone who has personally designed HVAC, plumbing, and fire-protection systems. Experience limited to drafting, BIM modeling, or following another engineer’s markups is not enough.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Design HVAC systems for U.S. residential and commercial projects
• Design plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems
• Design sprinkler and fire-protection systems
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations using HAP or similar software
• Perform hydraulic calculations
• Select and schedule mechanical equipment
• Produce coordinated MEP drawings, layouts, schedules, and risers in AutoCAD and Revit
• Coordinate MEP systems with architectural and structural designs
• Work to applicable U.S. building and MEP codes
• Participate in design-review calls and explain technical decisions clearly
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Hands-on HVAC system design experience
• Hands-on plumbing system design experience
• Hands-on sprinkler / fire-protection design experience
• Strong heating and cooling load-calculation skills
• HAP or equivalent HVAC load-calculation software experience
• Hydraulic-calculation experience
• Equipment-selection experience
• Strong AutoCAD skills
• Strong Revit experience
• Experience producing complete MEP construction drawings, layouts, schedules, and risers
• Working knowledge of U.S. building and MEP codes and standards
• Direct experience on U.S. projects
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Strong written and spoken English
• Ability to own design work through documentation rather than working only as a drafter
NICE TO HAVE
• Experience coordinating directly with architects and structural engineers
• Experience presenting or defending engineering decisions during technical reviews
• Experience managing several projects simultaneously
• Experience with both residential and commercial U.S. projects
