Millwork Drafter – SketchUp

ABOUT THE ROLE
F5 Global Talent is hiring an experienced Millwork Drafter to produce detailed, fabrication-ready shop drawings and 3D models for custom cabinetry, built-ins, furniture, and architectural woodwork.
You’ll take room measurements, reference photos, sketches, and design concepts and turn them into accurate shop drawings showing exactly how each piece should be built.
You’ll also create SketchUp models and realistic renderings so clients and the production team can clearly understand the finished result.
This is a technical woodworking role — not simply 3D visualization. You must understand cabinetry, millwork construction, materials, joinery, hardware, and how a drawing translates to the shop floor.
This is a full-time, remote role open to candidates in India and the Philippines.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Produce detailed, dimensioned shop drawings for custom millwork and cabinetry
• Create plans, elevations, sections, side views, and component details
• Translate measurements, photos, sketches, and concepts into fabrication-ready drawings
• Specify materials, thicknesses, hardware, and construction details
• Create accurate 3D models in SketchUp
• Produce realistic renderings showing the finished woodworking
• Identify missing information and potential fabrication problems before production
• Maintain dimensional consistency throughout complete drawing sets
• Revise drawings efficiently based on client and production feedback
• Communicate technical questions clearly with the internal team
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Professional experience in millwork, cabinetry, furniture, or woodworking drafting
• Strong experience producing fabrication-ready shop drawings
• Strong SketchUp 3D modeling skills
• Experience producing realistic 3D renderings
• Understanding of woodworking construction and fabrication methods
• Knowledge of joinery, materials, hardware, and assembly methods
• Ability to interpret room measurements, reference photos, sketches, and design concepts
• Strong dimensional accuracy and spatial reasoning
• Ability to develop detailed component drawings, sections, and elevations
• Strong attention to detail and independent quality control
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
NICE TO HAVE
• AutoCAD or comparable CAD experience
• Experience with custom cabinetry, built-ins, shelving, furniture, or architectural millwork
• Experience preparing cut lists, material schedules, or component breakdowns
• Knowledge of laminates, veneers, finishes, and woodworking materials
• Experience working with U.S. clients or woodworking companies
• Experience with additional SketchUp-compatible rendering software
IMPORTANT
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to show examples of shop drawings and SketchUp work they personally produced.
If your experience is primarily architectural visualization or 3D rendering without hands-on millwork or fabrication drawing experience, this role is not the right fit.
