Registered Nurse Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Team

The Mental Health Program, in collaboration with the Halton Regional Police Service, is seeking a registered nurse for the Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Team. This role provides urgent community-based mental health and addiction crisis response, assessment, intervention, and support to individuals experiencing acute psychiatric or substance use crises. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with police, hospital teams, community agencies, patients, and families to promote safety, stabilization, and connection to appropriate services. Strong assessment, crisis intervention, de-escalation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills are essential.
Minimum of 1 year experience in a psychiatric emergency setting
Fluency in a second language is an asset.
Experience working with individuals with substance use and/or addictions is an asset.
Excellent crisis intervention, de-escalation, clinical assessment, supportive counselling skills
Exemplary communication skills.
Proven ability in problem solving, decision making, and conflict resolution.
Knowledge of and ability to access community resources.
Must be able to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team in a fast paced, demanding environment.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Ontario Mental Health Act, PHIPA, HCCA.
Sound knowledge of the principles of the therapeutic relationship and their application to Crisis Intervention.
Demonstrates excellent organizational, time-management skills, and team building skills.
Excellent work performance, punctuality, and attendance.
Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.
Proficiency in computer skills.
