Reports to: CEO & Founder
A client is seeking a founding Chief Technology Officer to set the technical direction and build the platform and engineering team behind a new life optimization business. The platform brings together guidance and services across health, longevity, financial, legal, lifestyle, and family needs.
You’ll work closely with the CEO and leadership team to turn the company’s vision into a product that feels simple, polished, secure, and trustworthy. The role spans iOS, Android, web, and the systems behind them. You’ll shape what the team builds, how it builds it, and the standards it follows as the business grows.
Must Haves
15+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or in a comparable role.
Experience shipping and operating a polished consumer platform on both iOS and Android.
A track record of building for high-expectation customers in a premium service, luxury concierge, private membership, private banking, or similar environment.
Strong technical judgment across mobile, web, architecture, and cloud systems, with the ability to balance a simple user experience with reliable, scalable foundations.
Experience working with sensitive or regulated data and making security, privacy, and trust core parts of product design.
What You’ll Do
Set the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for the platform.
Decide what to build, buy, or leave out, keeping the product straightforward for members and sound behind the scenes.
Build and lead a high-performing team of engineers and technical leaders, including hiring plans, team structure, and operating practices.
Oversee mobile experiences for iOS and Android, along with web and supporting infrastructure.
Establish strong standards for product quality, performance, reliability, security, and privacy.
Design secure, auditable systems for sensitive health, financial, and family information.
Guide the development of AI-powered capabilities using approved enterprise tools and agreements.
Partner with the CEO on priorities and quarterly commitments, and communicate clearly about progress, tradeoffs, and results.
Nice to Have
Experience in a family office, private bank, premium longevity, or concierge health business.
Native development experience with Swift and Kotlin, as well as React Native, and a clear perspective on when to use each.
Familiarity with HealthKit, Health Connect, wearable integrations, financial data aggregation, HIPAA, SOC 2, or FTC Safeguards.
Experience developing AI-powered features with tools such as Gemini on Vertex AI or Claude under approved enterprise agreements.
Familiarity with TypeScript, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud AlloyDB, or Cloud Run.
Experience growing an engineering team from its founding stage to 30 or more people.
