About The Role
Starling is seeking a talented Android Engineer to join its dynamic mobile development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing and maintaining the Starling mobile application, ensuring it remains at the forefront of digital banking innovation. You will work within cross-functional teams that focus on delivering seamless, accessible, and secure user experiences. The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-quality, resilient banking app built with the latest Android technologies, including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Material 3. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Android development, with proven experience in Kotlin and modern Android frameworks. A solid understanding of MVVM architecture, dependency injection (preferably Hilt), and asynchronous programming with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow is essential. Experience working with UI components such as Jetpack Compose and an eye for design consistency and accessibility are highly valued. Familiarity with code testing frameworks like Espresso and JUnit, along with experience in manual testing and working closely with QA teams, is important. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive, self-driven attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of security best practices in mobile app development and experience with app deployment automation will be advantageous.
