About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with a focus on Blockchain technology to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade backend services and blockchain components that support our digital asset platforms. This role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment based in London, UK, engaging in innovative projects that push the boundaries of blockchain integration within financial services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, DevOps, security specialists, and product managers, to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in Java development with proven experience in blockchain technology. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required. Additionally, candidates should have:
Extensive experience in backend development using Java and related frameworks.
Hands-on experience with blockchain platforms and smart contract interactions.
Familiarity with API and microservices architecture.
Understanding of cryptographic principles, security protocols, and blockchain network integration.
Knowledge of digital asset custody, wallet management, and related infrastructure.
Experience working within agile teams and collaborating across multiple disciplines.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to effectively articulate technical concepts and collaborate with team members.
Responsibilities
As a Java Developer (Blockchain), your responsibilities will include:
Designing and developing enterprise-grade backend services using Java to support digital asset products and services.
Building robust APIs and microservices that facilitate seamless integration and operation of blockchain-based systems.
Developing scalable, resilient, and secure systems aligned with banking and financial industry standards.
Implementing blockchain-specific business logic, including workflows for smart contract interactions, minting, burning, asset transfers, and wallet management.
Integrating external blockchain networks into the client’s digital asset ecosystem to ensure interoperability and security.
Building integrations with digital asset custody providers, wallet services, and third-party blockchain infrastructure providers.
Participating in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and code reviews to ensure best practices are followed.
Supporting operational readiness, troubleshooting, and production support activities to maintain system stability and security.
Ensuring compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements through secure coding practices and documentation.
Collaborating within agile teams, sharing knowledge, and mentoring junior developers to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
