Role Description The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading the engineering organization and setting the technical vision for the company. This role oversees multiple engineering teams, ensuring high-quality delivery of software products, aligning engineering priorities with business objectives, and fostering a culture of ownership, transparency, and inclusive collaboration. Day-to-day activities include partnering with product leadership on roadmaps, guiding architectural decisions, defining and refining engineering processes, and monitoring performance, reliability, and security across systems. The Vice President of Engineering is also expected to mentor engineering leaders, manage budgets and resource planning, support talent acquisition and retention, and champion best practices in software development, testing, and release management.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Engineering Management, including building, scaling, and mentoring high-performing engineering organizations.
Strong Team Leadership skills, with experience guiding managers and technical leads, promoting collaboration, and supporting inclusive, remote-first teams.
Deep background in Software Development, with hands-on experience in modern technologies, architectures, and development practices.
Proficiency in Project Management, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivering complex initiatives on time and within scope.
Experience in Product Development, working closely with product leaders to translate strategy into technical roadmaps and scalable solutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at executive and board levels.
Proven track record of implementing engineering metrics, DevOps practices, and continuous improvement frameworks.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience leading distributed or fully remote engineering teams is highly beneficial.
