Role Description
The Senior HR Manager role is a part-time, unpaid, voluntary position that can be performed remotely. This role involves overseeing HR policies and processes, including volunteer recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention. The Senior HR Manager will design and implement fair and inclusive HR practices, support performance management and feedback mechanisms, and help build a positive, mission-driven culture. Day-to-day responsibilities may include coordinating with project leads to understand resource needs, maintaining volunteer records, facilitating virtual training and orientation sessions, and advising on conflict resolution and workplace well-being. The role also includes contributing to strategic HR planning that aligns people practices with the organization’s social impact goals.
Qualifications
Experience in Human Resources management, including recruitment, onboarding, and volunteer or workforce engagement.
Knowledge of HR policies, compliance, and best practices, with a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory approaches.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills for working with diverse, remote teams and community stakeholders.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize part-time responsibilities while working independently in a remote environment.
Prior experience in the nonprofit or social impact sector, especially in health, sanitation, or community development, is beneficial.
Experience in the fashion retail industry would be useful.
Work Experience of 5-25 years .
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Management, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
