Network Planning Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications company, is seeking a Senior Network Planning Engineer to support network materials planning and forecasting. This role will focus on short-term and long-term planning, material utilization, and forecasting network equipment needs while collaborating with Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Partner Management teams.
Responsibilities:
Develop short-term and long-term forecasts for network equipment and material requirements
Evaluate material utilization and identify future infrastructure needs and planning gaps
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Partner Management teams to align equipment needs and availability
Support detailed forecasting requests and evolving business priorities
Gather data, perform analysis, and develop practical planning recommendations
Coordinate across internal teams to support network infrastructure initiatives
Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in materials planning, resource planning, or forecasting
Experience developing and managing short-term and long-term plans
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and adapt to changing business needs
Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate resource requirements and support planning decisions
Telecommunications or network infrastructure experience preferred
Exposure to fiber infrastructure, fiber enablement, or long-haul networks is a plus
Familiarity with Ciena, Juniper, or similar network equipment is a plus
Materials logistics experience considered when combined with broader planning responsibilities
