Position Summary
Our client is a leading global manufacturer, importer, and distributor of home décor and soft goods — including plush, bedding, blankets, and baby products, trusted by the world's largest retail chains. They're looking for a CAD Designer to support their product design and development team, specifically focused on soft goods. This role sits at the intersection of trend, creativity, and technical execution.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed CAD designs and technical flat sketches for soft goods (plush, blankets, pillows, bedding, etc.).
Create accurate tech packs including construction details, measurements, material callouts, and colorways.
Translate design concepts and trend direction into production-ready artwork files
Collaborate with product development and sourcing teams to ensure designs are manufacturable at scale.
Revise designs based on feedback from internal stakeholders and overseas production partners
Maintain organized design files and version control throughout the product lifecycle.
Support licensed brand design projects, ensuring artwork meets brand standards and licensor approvals.
Requirements (Must-Have)
3+ years of CAD design experience in soft goods, textiles, or consumer products.
Experience working with Disney licensed products and meeting Disney brand/licensor standards.
Ability to produce clean, accurate tech packs ready for factory use.
Strong understanding of soft goods construction — seams, trims, fill, fabric types.
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with a global team
Technical Skills (Required)
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple SKUs simultaneously.
Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional and global teams.
Adaptability to feedback and iterative design processes.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (required); Photoshop a plus.
CAD design for soft goods and textiles.
Tech pack creation and technical flat sketching.
Knowledge of materials, construction, and manufacturing processes.
File organization and version control.
Understanding of licensed product design requirements (e.g., Disney standards)
