About BetterBrain
BetterBrain is pioneering a movement to make evidence-informed brain health accessible to everyone on earth. We bring together advances in longevity science and AI to help people protect their brains, think better, feel better, and live longer, fuller lives.
Our mission is personal, shaped by experiences with dementia in our families. We’re working toward a world in which people can preserve their memory, independence, relationships, and ability to do the things they love throughout their lives.
We believe the convergence of longevity science and AI can transform human healthspan and create a new generation of health and longevity businesses. BetterBrain combines advanced diagnostics, personalized coaching, clinical care, and technology to turn that possibility into practical help for real people.
We recently completed a successful Series A and have enough capital for at least two years. We’ve spent two years building what we think is the best health optimization platform on earth, and we’re growing 20x year over year.
We are an AI-native company. AI is central to both the products we build and how we work every day. We’re building a system for personalized, whole-person health, anchored in the brain, and developing several connected businesses around it:
Consumer health and care: assessments, diagnostics, personalized plans, coaching, and clinical services that help people understand and improve their health.
AI and technology: BeBe, our health intelligence platform, and tools that help people and professionals turn complex information into useful decisions and action.
Products and commerce: supplements, curated products, and services that help customers put their plans into practice.
Institutional growth: employer programs and partnerships with healthcare providers, payers, and other organizations that can bring BetterBrain to more people.
New business development: emerging opportunities in platform licensing, research, professional education, and certification.
The opportunity
We’re looking for an exceptional management consultant to work directly with BetterBrain’s co-founder and co-CEO, Tom Latkovic, every day.
Before BetterBrain, Tom co-founded McKinsey’s AI practice and the McKinsey Health Institute. At various times he led McKinsey’s Payor practice and served as the firm’s global co-Chief Product Officer, and he was lead author on two widely read pieces on health: "Adding years to life and life to years" and "The secret to great health? Escaping the healthcare matrix." He has also founded multiple successful businesses outside McKinsey.
You’ll help build and scale multiple businesses in parallel, contribute to important decisions, and turn agreed priorities into tangible results. Your work will span AI, product, growth, science, commercial partnerships, finance, and operations.
You’ll have meaningful autonomy to structure problems, develop recommendations, test ideas, and advance projects, with close collaboration and regular guidance from Tom and functional leaders.
If you’re thinking seriously about becoming a founder or business leader, this is an opportunity to develop the judgment, skills, and confidence that come from helping build and operate real businesses.
What you’ll help deliver
Your responsibilities will evolve with the company’s priorities and your development. Together, we’ll agree which projects you lead, where you support others, and what success looks like. Expect to:
Develop new businesses and offerings. Investigate markets, speak with customers, develop business cases, test demand, and help take promising ideas through launch.
Help shape products and AI experiences. Work with product, engineering, science, and clinical colleagues to define problems, prototype solutions, inform priorities, and improve what we deliver.
Advance customer and partner opportunities. Develop compelling propositions, build relationships, prepare proposals, support commercial discussions, and coordinate successful pilots and launches.
Improve growth and economics. Analyze acquisition, conversion, retention, pricing, margins, and capacity. Recommend improvements and work with the team to put them into practice.
Improve day-to-day execution. Help strengthen customer journeys, connect work across teams, resolve bottlenecks, and develop processes that support growth.
Help build the organization. Support recruiting, clarify responsibilities, develop useful measures of performance, and help talented people work effectively together.
Support important founder decisions. Research options, identify tradeoffs, bring clear recommendations, contribute to financial planning and investor communication, and follow through on agreed actions.
A project might begin with a blank page and end with a live product, a signed partnership, a better customer experience, or a more effective way of working. You’ll stay close enough to the work to understand what happened, what you contributed, and what to do better next time.
Why this could be a defining career move
You’ll work daily with a founder whose experience spans healthcare, AI, technology, and company building. You’ll participate in difficult decisions, receive direct feedback, and build relationships with scientists, clinicians, engineers, entrepreneurs, and commercial leaders.
The breadth is unusual. You’ll learn how product choices affect customer behavior, how care delivery affects economics, how partnerships create distribution, and how to allocate limited resources across competing opportunities.
You’ll have space to contribute your ideas, develop your judgment, and build confidence through practice. As your skills develop and you deliver results, you’ll take on broader responsibilities and more challenging projects.
Who will thrive here
We’re looking for someone with a strong record at a high-quality management consulting firm who is ready to contribute, learn quickly, and grow into a highly capable operator. Your experience should fit one of these stages:
You have successfully completed an analyst stint or are approaching the end of one.
You have one or two years of associate experience.
You are early in your time as a manager.
We’re prioritizing candidates from McKinsey, Bain, and BCG, and will also consider exceptional candidates from other firms.
You:
Bring excellent analytical skills, clear writing, and sound judgment.
Enjoy getting close to customers, details, and execution.
Learn unfamiliar subjects quickly and are curious about AI, science, health, and business.
Take initiative, work independently within agreed priorities, and follow through.
Know when to move ahead, when to seek input, and when to raise an issue.
Can challenge a founder thoughtfully, change your mind when the evidence changes, and build trust across very different kinds of people.
Bring ambition, humility, warmth, and a sense of humor.
You should be excited to become highly capable with building agentic workflows and pushing the boundaries of what is possible with AI. Experience in healthcare or software is useful; the ability and desire to learn are essential.
How we work and live
We work intensely, and we have a blast.
Expect long days, regular evening and weekend work, rapidly evolving priorities, and daily engagement with Tom. The standards are high, the problems are difficult, and the commitment of time and energy is substantial.
Our working life also includes mountains, oceans, bikes, and adventure. Ideas get debated on hikes and by the water. We laugh, explore, and enjoy the people we’re building with. Helping people live fully is central to BetterBrain, and we want that spirit in the experience of building it.
Location
We’d love for you to be based in Denver/Boulder or San Francisco. Remote also works, with occasional travel for in-person time.
Our values
Lead with empathy – We are privileged to be entrusted by people with their most important organ. When faced with a difficult decision, we always do what's best for people's lives.
Challenge the status quo – Our healthcare system is broken; we must challenge/forget everything we've learned. By taking a beginner's mindset, we will rebuild a system in a way that actually works.
Relentlessly pursue excellence – Solving Alzheimer's may be one of the most difficult challenges of our time. This means charging fast at hard problems and not stopping until we achieve our very high bar.
Stay curious, stay humble – The field of brain health is moving at an incredible pace. We are quick to admit when we don't know something and we continuously update our perspective as the science evolves.
