About the Opportunity:
The CLOUD ENGINEER - MEDCHART role is responsible for supporting cloud production, migration, environment modernization, and database management for the MEDCHART system. This position plays a key role in maintaining cloud infrastructure and SQL databases, ensuring system resilience, performance, and security compliance. The role also involves collaborating with external partners to troubleshoot and authorize system connections, contributing to the ongoing enhancement and modernization of cloud architecture.
Responsibilities:
Assist with cloud migration planning and implementation
Maintain, patch, and upgrade Azure Cloud servers via Web Portal and scripting
Generate and interpret DISA STIG security compliance checklists
Support monitoring and maintenance of MEDCHART SQL databases, including disaster recovery and backup monitoring
Research and resolve performance issues with databases and queries
Collaborate with external partners to authorize and troubleshoot system connections
Assist in cloud architecture planning, migration, and modernization activities
Coordinate regression testing and operational validation after migrations or optimizations
Develop and maintain migration and modernization plans, schedules, and technical recommendations
Assist in developing and maintaining database disaster recovery plans
Participate in program and project status meetings
Assess new hosting/cloud capabilities for security, performance, and cost benefits
Requirements:
Eight or more years of technical experience
Bachelor of Science in a technical field or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred
Active Secret Clearance with NACI (ANACI / Tier 3) access
Experience planning and facilitating data/code migration and validation
Proficient in supporting MEDCHART databases, scripts, and SQL packages
Experience with cloud migrations and modernization for Government or DoD systems
Skilled in Microsoft Azure Cloud management
Knowledge of environment planning, cloud cost optimization, resilience, performance tuning, and DevSecOps pipelines
Ability to prepare detailed estimates, plans, schedules, and technical briefings
Experience with PowerShell and scripting
Familiarity with CI/CD, cloud administration, architecture modeling, security compliance, and database migration tools
Exposure to AI coding and scripting tools
Experience ensuring database compliance with security regulations
Familiarity with IDEs such as Visual Studio or Eclipse
Proficient with database development tools, source control, static code analysis, and testing tools
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Dynamic State Configuration scripting
Knowledge of firewall concepts and implementation
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $135,000 to $145,000 USD
