Role Description The Senior Cloud Engineer role at Superfan.ng is a full-time remote position responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure that powers the learning platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and optimizing cloud environments, implementing infrastructure as code, ensuring system reliability and scalability, and managing deployments and monitoring. The role involves collaborating with software engineers to design secure, performant architectures, improving CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshooting production issues. The Senior Cloud Engineer will also help define best practices, enhance security and compliance, and contribute to long-term technical strategy for the platform.
Qualifications
Strong Software Development skills, including experience building and integrating services and working with APIs.
Expertise in Infrastructure design and operations, including automation, observability, and performance optimization.
Advanced Cloud Computing skills with major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including networking, security, and cost management.
Proficiency with Linux system administration, shell scripting, and troubleshooting in production environments.
Hands-on experience with Databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), including performance tuning, backups, and high availability.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently in a remote setting, and effective communication with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in a senior or lead cloud role is preferred.
