Role Description This is a full-time, remote Freelance Cloud Engineer role. The Cloud Engineer will design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure to support Superfan.ng’s learning platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Day-to-day tasks include configuring and managing cloud services, optimizing infrastructure performance, setting up monitoring and logging, and handling deployments and environment automation. The role also involves collaborating with software developers to streamline CI/CD pipelines, manage databases and storage, and troubleshoot production issues. The Cloud Engineer will contribute to infrastructure documentation and participate in planning for new features and architectural improvements.
Qualifications
Strong Software Development skills, including experience with modern programming languages and collaborating with engineering teams.
Hands-on Infrastructure experience with setting up, automating, and maintaining production environments and CI/CD pipelines.
Proficiency in Cloud Computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud-native services for scaling and securing applications.
Advanced Linux skills for server administration, shell scripting, and performance tuning in production environments.
Solid understanding of Databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), including configuration, optimization, and backup strategies.
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.
Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools to ensure platform reliability and observability.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with distributed teams, and manage time effectively.
Prior experience in edtech or consumer-facing applications, and familiarity with security best practices, are a plus.
