Security Officer

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB
The Security Officer assumes overall responsibility for the safety and security of the company by maintaining a safe and secure environment for the company’s employees, customers, and premises. The role encompasses monitoring, patrolling, access control, incident response, and responding to emergency preparedness.
SHIFT DETAILS
4 days on, 3 days OFF 1wk, then flip next week to 3 days ON w/ 4 days OFF
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; and permitting entry.
Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and restraining trespassers.
Maintains the organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
Inspect and patrol premises regularly.
Monitor the property entrance and secure all exits, doors, and windows.
Report any suspicious behaviours and happenings.
Submit reports of surveillance activity.
Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly.
Respond to emergencies and incidents promptly and escalate as necessary.
Assist employees and visitors with any security concerns they might have.
Badge checks: Validate that all persons accessing or onsite the building wear badges.
Badge management issues badges to visitors or employees who forget theirs and collects them upon departure.
Visitor clearance: receives and examines visitors.
Surveillance scans—using the video feed from all entry and exit points.
Any other tasks assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous military or police experience required.
Physically fit and capable of standing, walking, and conducting security patrols for extended periods.
Strong observation and situational awareness skills.
Ability to respond appropriately to security incidents and emergencies.
