Finance Controller

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Regional finance control, reporting and month-end
Own the finance controlling responsibility across the European subsidiaries, initially including Denmark,
Sweden, Holland, France and Germany.
Deliver monthly financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow monitoring across the region.
Support and oversee monthly management accounting, creating a stable reporting baseline and
improving consistency in local entity review and consolidation.
Statutory compliance, local advisors and group reporting
Oversee regional statutory compliance, working with local external advisors in each relevant country.
Ensure statutory filings are completed on time and that advisors receive accurate, complete and timely
information.
Review local statutory and tax-related adjustments and ensure they are appropriately reflected in group
reporting.
Accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow and working capital
Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable activity, ensuring effective process discipline, timely
follow-up and appropriate controls.
Improve working capital focus in the short to medium term, with particular attention to cash flow visibility
and operational follow-up.
Help the business understand priorities relating to cash, receivables, payables and balance sheet
movements.
Balance sheet control, technical accounting and process improvement
Improve balance sheet reconciliations and strengthen control over fluctuations and variances in reported
numbers.
Support resolution of technical accounting questions arising across the European entities, with a practical
and commercially aware approach.
Identify recurring firefighting and build practical processes, controls and routines that reduce future
operational pressure.
Team leadership, stakeholder management and scope progression
Lead, support and develop finance team members from day one, creating clarity on priorities, standards
and accountability.
Build strong working relationships with local finance managers, management accountants, regional
advisors and business stakeholders.
Stabilise the European finance function before expanding controlling responsibility to the USA and UAE,
with UK controlling potentially moving into scope later.
Progress naturally into a broader European Finance Director role, potentially within 12 months, subject to
performance, business need and successful stabilisation of the finance function.Page | 3
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
This is a full-time position based around VELTUFF’s European finance requirements. The role will require an on-site
presence in Vallensbaek when needed, together with travel to other VELTUFF units and engagement with local
advisors across Denmark, Sweden, Holland, France and Germany. Additional international scope, including the USA,
UAE and potentially the UK, may be added once the European finance function is operating smoothly.
The successful candidate should bring strong finance management and controlling experience, a sound
understanding of EU GAAP requirements, and the confidence to take ownership quickly in a hands-on environment.
ERP competence is expected, although the role does not require deep systems administration expertise.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Strong background in finance management, financial control, management accounting, cash flow and EU GAAP.
Proven experience leading finance teams and supervising accountants, controllers or finance operations
colleagues.
Ability to take ownership quickly in a hands-on environment while maintaining a clear view of priorities and
business impact.
Experience overseeing monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow monitoring across multiple
entities.
Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and the controls required to improve
reporting reliability.
Experience working with local external advisors to manage statutory filings, local compliance requirements and
entity-level adjustments.
Ability to supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable activity and improve working capital focus.
Confident ERP user with sufficient systems competence to work effectively with financial data, reporting
processes and operational teams.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to support local finance managers, management
accountants, advisors and senior leadership.
Practical, process-minded and resilient, with the ability to work through operational detail while building
routines that reduce future firefighting.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
Month-end reporting discipline
Description: European monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting packs are completed accurately and on time.
Metric: Close timetable achieved; material issues identified and resolved before reporting.
Statutory compliance control
Description: Local advisors receive the required information and statutory filings are completed within relevant deadlines.
Metric: No avoidable late filings; advisor information requests managed promptly.
Working capital and cash visibility
Description: Cash flow, receivables and payables are actively monitored, with issues escalated and followed through with the business.
Metric: Improved cash flow visibility; overdue AR/AP items tracked and actioned.
Finance function stabilisation
Description: Processes, controls and team routines are strengthened so senior finance leadership can focus more on interpretation and strategic support.
Metric: Reduced recurring firefighting; documented routines and clearer accountability across the team.
