Job Description: Scala Developer
Location: Hyderabad, India

Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Scala Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications. The ideal candidate will have strong programming fundamentals, hands-on experience with Scala, and a good understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and modern software development practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Scala.
• Write clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Work with functional programming concepts, concurrency, and asynchronous processing.
• Develop and maintain applications using distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Work with databases, SQL queries, and data processing pipelines.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver business requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, performance optimization, and production issue resolution.
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• 4–7 years of experience in software development, with strong hands-on Scala experience.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented and functional programming concepts.
• Experience with Scala libraries, collections, Futures, and asynchronous programming.
• Good knowledge of Java or JVM internals.
• Experience developing REST APIs, microservices, and backend applications.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Git, Maven or SBT, and build automation tools.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks and automated testing practices.
• Understanding of multithreading, concurrency, data structures, and algorithms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Good to Have
• Experience with Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, or Akka.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and event-driven architecture.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
